Hen party boat trips 40 minutes from Marbella

Solboat has no berths in Marbella or Puerto Banús. Hen parties booked by groups staying in Marbella sail from Puerto Marina in Benalmádena, around 40 minutes away on the AP-7, with the catamaran Tyrion as the group boat: up to 10 guests, professional skipper and fuel included from 330€ for 2 hours.

We would rather open with that than sell you a departure from a marina we are not in. Our fleet is our own and it is moored where we have bases: Puerto Marina, Puerto de la Duquesa and Estepona marina. Marbella sits right in the middle, with no berth of ours in it.

If what you want is an afternoon afloat with the whole group at prices that are not set by a luxury marina, the 40 minutes usually pay for themselves: you will not find ten seats and a skipper for 330€ for two hours in Banús. If what you specifically want is to see the Golden Mile from the water, that is a different question and we answer it honestly further down.

What we provide and what you bring

The catamaran price includes the professional skipper, the fuel, the insurance, the safety equipment and a bluetooth sound system. We do not do catering, an open bar, a DJ or a photographer: if you have seen packages like that advertised, they were not ours. Drinks, food and decorations are down to you. The only things banned on board are confetti and glitter, which always end up in the sea.

How many of you, and what that rules in or out

The real fleet limit is 10 seats. If you have read somewhere that we run hen parties for twelve, it was not us: that boat does not exist here.

Up to 10: the catamaran Tyrion

Always sails with a professional skipper and with fuel included: 330€ for 2 hours, 440€ for 3 and 550€ for 4. It is the celebration boat, but its cruising speed keeps it in the bay of Benalmádena. It is not the one that takes you to Banús.

Up to 8: Nova or Kronos, no licence needed

Five and a half metres, no licence of any kind required, from 100€ an hour or 170€ for 2 hours. Insurance and safety equipment included, fuel separate. You drive, after a run-through of the controls at the berth.

Up to 7: the Rocinante, PER required

115 hp and 7 seats from 120€ an hour. It needs a PER licence or equivalent because of the engine, not the hull length, and it is the only boat in the fleet that makes a run towards Marbella realistic. 300€ deposit and fuel separate.

What you can do
and how far you actually get

Real distances from Puerto Marina, so the hen party gets planned with numbers instead of wishful thinking.

The whole group on one boat

Ten seats, a professional skipper and a bluetooth sound system. You leave the berth with your playlist on and the skipper handles everything else, including finding the right anchorage for how the sea is behaving that day.

Coves between Carvajal and Mijas
Swimming

Coves between Carvajal and Mijas

West of the marina, between Torremuelle, Carvajal and the Mijas stretch, there are small coves you can only reach from the water. It is what we recommend for a two or three hour booking: real swimming time instead of spending the afternoon under way.

Marbella and Banús from the water
Long run

Marbella and Banús from the water

It is 19 nautical miles to Marbella harbour and 22 to Puerto Banús. In the Rocinante that is roughly 45 to 55 minutes each way, so realistically you need half a day once you count the return. The catamaran and the licence-free boats will not do it, and it is better to know that before booking.

Sunset with La Concha behind
Sunset

Sunset with La Concha behind

Late in the day the sun sits straight ahead and, when the air is clear, the outline of La Concha and Sierra Blanca stands out to the west. Late slots are the ones hen parties ask for most, and you do not have to leave the bay to see it.

Hen party trips bookable near Marbella

Set departures with fixed timings, a skipper on board and one price per group, so the only thing left to organise is what time you turn up.

We are not based in Marbella port: these trips sail from Puerto Marina (Benalmádena), around 40 minutes away on the AP-7.

Why the trip from Marbella is worth it

Forty minutes on the AP-7 in exchange for this. And if it does not add up for you, we will say so too.

Ten seats with a skipper for 330€

The catamaran Tyrion sails with a professional skipper and fuel included from 330€ for 2 hours. Compare that with an equivalent trip out of Puerto Banús and you will see why so many Marbella groups make the drive.

Six boats and more slots free

Puerto Marina is our big base: the catamaran, four licence-free boats and the Rocinante. In high season that means more dates and more time slots available than at a small marina.

We will also tell you when it is NOT worth it

If you want to board ten minutes from your door, or to see the Golden Mile from the water without giving up half a day, the honest answer is to look in Banús. We would rather say that than have you arrive at the berth expecting something we cannot deliver.

Getting to Puerto Marina from Marbella

You board at berths 685, 686 and 687 in Puerto Marina, Benalmádena. Here is the exact location and the phone number for the base.

On the AP-7 toll road it is about 40 minutes from central Marbella and around 35 from Puerto Banús. On the free A-7, busier in summer, allow 50 to 60. Exit at Benalmádena Costa and follow the signs for Puerto Marina.

Puerto Marina has parking next to the berths and there are metered spaces along the seafront. In July and August allow extra time: the marina is also a restaurant district and it fills up.
