Solboat has no berths in the port of Málaga itself: hen parties booked from Málaga board at Puerto Marina, Benalmádena, 20 minutes away on the A-7. The group boat is the catamaran Tyrion, up to 10 guests with a skipper and fuel included, from 330€ for 2 hours.
We say that up front because it is what confuses almost everyone. The Port of Málaga is a commercial and cruise port. There are no hire pontoons there and no fleet available to the public. The nearest marina with boats for hire is Puerto Marina, which is why it is our base for every group setting out from Málaga.
For a hen party that has one very practical upside: nobody has to be the sober driver. The C-1 commuter line runs from María Zambrano and Centro-Alameda to Arroyo de la Miel in around 30 minutes, and it is about a 10-minute taxi or bus ride from the station to the berth. You board, cross the bay, anchor for a swim and head back into Málaga for dinner.
On the catamaran we provide the boat, the professional skipper, the fuel, the safety equipment and a bluetooth sound system. What we do not provide is catering, an open bar, a DJ or a photographer. We do not offer any of it, and we would rather tell you now than let you assume otherwise. Food and drink come with you, and there is a supermarket five minutes from the marina in Benalmádena if you want to shop on the way. Decorations are welcome as long as they are not confetti or glitter.

First, the number that gets misread most often: our largest boat takes 10 people. There is no twelve-seater in the fleet, not in Benalmádena and not at our other two bases.
Professional skipper and fuel included, from 330€ for 2 hours (440€ for 3 and 550€ for 4). It is the only boat in the fleet that keeps the whole group together, and the most comfortable for a long afternoon: a wide deck and the gentle roll of a catamaran.
5.5 metre boats you can drive yourselves with no licence at all, from 100€ an hour or 170€ for 2 hours. Insurance and safety equipment included, fuel separate. Usually works out cheaper than the catamaran if there are six or eight of you.
The Octo 47 CC and the Andrómeda seat 6 and start at 80€ an hour or 150€ for 2. And the Rocinante, 7 seats and 115 hp, from 120€ an hour if one of you holds a PER licence.

The catamaran has a bluetooth sound system, so the playlist is yours from the moment the lines are off. The skipper navigates and picks where to stop. You bring the party. There is no DJ and no hired entertainment: the atmosphere arrives with you.
West of the marina, between Torremuelle, Carvajal and the Mijas coves, there are sheltered anchorages where the engine goes off and everyone jumps in. It is what makes best use of a two or three hour booking: real time in the water instead of endless motoring.
Seeing La Malagueta, the Farola lighthouse and the Gibralfaro from the sea is one of the best views in the province, but it is around 20 kilometres of coast from Puerto Marina. The catamaran cruises gently and will not make it in a short trip: it only works with the Rocinante and half a day to spare.
This stretch of coast faces the setting sun, which is why late afternoon slots are the ones hen parties book first. You do not need to go far either: the view from the bay itself is just as good.
Set departures with fixed timings, a skipper on board and one price per group, so the only thing left to organise is what time you turn up.

Take the A-7 or the AP-7 towards Cádiz, exit at Benalmádena Costa and follow the signs for Puerto Marina: around 20 to 25 minutes from central Málaga and about 15 from the airport.
There is parking inside the marina and metered spaces along the seafront. If you would rather not drive, the C-1 commuter line from María Zambrano or Centro-Alameda reaches Arroyo de la Miel in around 30 minutes, and it is about a 10-minute taxi or bus ride from there.
